Review: Roots by Rahul Bhatt

First Impression:
A cover and title that totally relates to the story and with an eye catcher blurb, ‘Roots’ successfully impresses me.

Review:
Roots is a debut novel of Mr. Rahul Bhatt. The story revolves around a priest Ganesh who carries his ancestor’s profession of fortune-telling. He has lost all the purpose of living and hence seeks some help from the helpline that is voluntarily running by Sarita. Her Mother Mira has seen more male dominance than any other female.
Author has brilliantly portrayed all the characters. All the characters interconnect with each other though they live different lives. Language is simple and easy to understand. But somewhere the story loses its track and fails to bind the reader.

Positive:
·         A story that most of us can relate with.
·         Simple and understandable language.

Negative:
·         Story losses its track at some point.

Verdict:
Roots is a story of different lives connected with each other in some ways. A story that talks about life. So if you want to read something serious and a story that talks about life, you can surely pick this one.
